Where are you Adam?
I have been pondering this question for sometime.  God obviously knew where he was and what he had done.  So why did He ask?   God's heart is always for us and wants to help us remove the barriers that keep us from him.  In this case Adam had to face what he had done and begin the path of restoration.  God often answers a question with a question that goes to the root of an issue.

He often asks me "Where is your heart?" or "Why did you react that way?"  When I look at my own heart or motivation it always breaks me.  I often have to reply, "Yes Lord, I see how far my ways are from your ways."  I also realize that, while I can make the decision to let the Lord fix it, I can't match up to His ways and character in my own strength.

The good news is that I don't have to.  Scripture says that it is intent to work in me both the will and the ability to accomplish His good purpose.  I also says that He is transforming those who are His into the image of Jesus.  The next time you hear that inner voice say, "Where are you?"  Don't try to hide from it as if the Lord doesn't already see everything.  Allow Him to remove the barriers that prevent the joy and fullness of walking with Him in what He is doing.
