Living in the midst of a Kingdom War
We are living in an unprecedented time. Everywhere we look we see nations with corrupt leaders and godless philosophies. A world that seems to be in chaos governed by the kingdom of darkness. There is a battle going on between good and evil forces and, in the natural, evil seems to big to lose. However, the earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof. He doesn't lose and has established his church (ekklesia) on earth and the gates of hell will not prevail.
His use of the term ekklesia was not a term for synagogue, or temple it was understood to be a called out people to legislate, govern business and judge things of the culture. Romans would send a group of citizens into a conquered land with the language, to establish laws and customs until the people resembled Roman culture. Jesus goal was to establish the Kingdom of God in all nations. Muslims use this principle with cultural jhad to conquer for Islam. Thus the battle between light and dark kingdoms.
We have to remember that we don't battle against people.
- " Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand." Eph 6:9-12
- Our weapons are not natural. "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ" 2 Cor 10:4,5
Here are a few things to reflect on.
- The Lord entered a world in chaos and set it into order. He said, "Let us create man in our image and likeness." That meant that man (male and female) would have the appearance of God and operate with his character. Or as he himself would operate. He was told to multiply, govern and care for the earth. Satan (who comes to steal, kill and destroy) caused mankind to relinquish their authority to him. God declared war on him. "And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her Offspring; He will bruise and tread your head underfoot, and you will lie in wait and bruise His heel." Gen. 3:15 AMP - Speaking of Jesus, the Messiah's crucifixion.
- Reflecting on what man was like originally in his fullness of looking like God and acting with His Character, we can look at Jesus. Jesus was called the Last Adam and he came to restore all that was lost. Apostle Paul describes him this way. "And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit." -1COR. 15:45 "For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily." -Col. 2:9 "Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high: -Heb. 1:3
- The Apostle Philip asked Jesus to show him the Father. Jesus replied if you have seen me you have seen the Father.
- Paul says, "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."-Gal 2:20
- Jesus said, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father." Jn 14:12
- He also said " As the Father sent me, so I send you." Jn 20:21, He sent them with all Authority Matt 28;18-20
- Victory is in the power of His might as we fight the lies and deception with TRUTH (His truth is the Word of God), with prayer (connecting the power of God with the purpose of God), through the use of the Holy Spirit to do the works that Christ did.
- The war may be fierce, but the victory is sure as we rest in Jesus. There is a reason Jesus taught his disciple to pray "Thy kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven." When resistance comes may you be as the saints in Acts 4:29-30 "And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.
