Eyes That See

"Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you....  Then the Spirit of the Lord came on Jahaziel son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite and descendant of Asaph, as he stood in the assembly.15 He said: “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s."-2 Chron 20:12, 14,15
In the month of Elul people realize that only God can deliver them from their sins and the things set against them.  They come close to him and express their helplessness.
Expanding Christ's Kingdom
The seeds of revival sown at Yale in 1790 and the Cane Ridge revival 1801 spread through Kentucky Tennessee, and Southern Ohio.  Camp meetings with the emphasis on personal repentance with salvation resulting in not only the individual but changes in social conditions in society.  Multidenominational mission societies were formed for the propagation of the Gospel  in the west and world- wide.  Women's rights and the abolition of slavery became the focus of much of the Christian community .   The Bible Society was formed to provide Scriptures for evangelism of the unreached areas.  Some estimates are that over 100,000 people came to faith by the 1850's and Christian principles had changed social and political structures.
We give thanks to God that He has allowed Gateway Teams to sow seed in ten nations. One sows, another waters, and God brings the growth.
Personal Reflection: "You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you(U) so that you might go and bear fruit(V)—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.” Jn 15:16   Ask the Lord to show you what kind of fruit He has born through you and what changes He needs to work in you to bear much more fruit for His kingdom.
