Give an Ear That You May Live

"Give ear and come to me; listen, that you may live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, my faithful love promised to David."-Isa 55:3-NIV
Praise for Creating Disciples:  In 1800, church membership in Kentucky was only 5% of the population. Congregations were dismayed at the rampant vulgarity and disinterest of spiritual things in society. On August of 1801, in the middle of a pouring rain, about 12,000 people in wagons and carriages began to assemble at Cane Ridge.  Day and night around wagons, tents and under trees, the gospel was preached.  The Holy Spirit visited heavily and people were brought to repentance and delivered from bondage.  Between 1800 and 1803, the Kentucky Baptists gained nearly 10,000 new members and Methodists reached 6,000 in just two years.  Rival spread through the South and Western US.
Personal Reflection: Have you become discouraged in your life or by the state of the culture around you? Are you living in the reality that the creator of the universe came to earth, took on flesh, and died to reconcile you with himself?  Ask the Lord Jesus to come into your life to restore you and help you change the people around you.
